Last night it was a cool night, down to 7deg. Perfect for snuggling under the blankets and getting a good nights sleep. But it is now a beautiful sunny day. Autumn in Queensland is the very best time to be in the garden. So I would like to take you on a short walk round a corner of the garden. Enjoy….

Living in Paradise... 
So wonderful to take a walk through your garden and to hear your lovely voice. I feel as though I have been there walking with you in a very physical way. I could even hear birds in the background. Perhaps, at some point, you might take a walk around another part of your garden? I would certainly love it if you did. You certainly do have your bit of paradise. Be well.

Pleased you enjoyed the wander around with me May. I used to have more shade plants before we chopped down all the palm trees. Gave lots away when we changed the garden style.

I sell any of my extra plants to raise funds for Wounded Heroes. Hoping to sell six Basil plants this week. It’s not much but the dollars add up. Your garden is an absolute delight:)

That was lovely. I like to hear how people sound. Northern English with only a slight overlay of Australia I’d say. Where are you from originally?

Very good guess Anabel. I Was born in Yorkshire and left when I was 18 and went to NZ for 40 years before moving to Australia in 1998. Love it here.

It looks so different in motion, and with all those loud birds or whatever they are in the background. You sound more English than Australian.

I was born in UK and left for NZ when I was 18. But my accent came with me….

Oh, I know how that goes. I never relocated, but my culture was destroyed by what happened in the Santa Clara Valley. However, I can still identify the very slight ‘Val’ accent of those who were there at the same time I was. Even those of us who have taken on accents of regions that we relocated to still retain a bit of it. (A mixture of Okie and Val accents is cringe worthy!)

It seems the accent you had as a child is often what you keep for life with maybe a slight overtone of where ever you end up living

What a lovely walk through your garden, Pauline. The evening sounded lovely, snuggling under a blanket. Getting out in your lovely garden and sitting on the serenity seat was a lovely treat for all of us. It was so much fun to see a video and hear your voice with your Aussie accent. Thank you for the lovely tour! It’s nice to get a sense of your garden in motion, so to speak. I also love the “serenity seat.” If I ever get serious about building a garden, I’ll have to include a serenity seat somewhere!
